WORKSHOP

W-14: Optical fibers: What is next? Acquisition, Data, and Products

Friday, 21 August | 1:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m. | TBD

This workshop will provide a focused overview of recent advances in fiber optic acquisition technologies and identify the next steps driven by end user needs. We will examine the key data types acquired today - DAS, DTS, DSS, OPS, and others - and discuss how they are processed and managed through automation, AI, and scalable data workflows.

A central theme is how combining multiple fiber optic measurements enables stronger physical insights and new integrated data products. The workshop will also address current limitations, emerging technologies, and the developments required to unlock broader impact across imaging, monitoring, and reservoir characterization.

Lead Organizer

Michel Verliac, TotalEnergies

Co-Organizer(s)

Iga Pawelec, BP
Vladimir Kazei, Aramco Americas
