Vice President for Exploration Data and Geosolutions for SLB

Andrea Lovatini

Andrea Lovatini is the Vice President for Exploration Data and Geosolutions for SLB. In this role, he is responsible for the Multiclient and Geosolutions businesses globally for SLB Digital division.

Andrea has a MSC in Telecommunication Engineering, with specialization in Digital Signal Processing, from the Politecnico of Milan, Italy. He started his career as geophysicist in Geosystem, a geophysical integration startup purchased by SLB in 2007. There he held various positions, working on Electromagnetic methods, ranging from algorithm-development to field processing, to geophysical consulting. In SLB he has held several technical and managerial roles, both in WesternGeco and in Petro Technical Services. This has included managing the marine onboard geophysics team and leading the Center of Excellence for Multiphysics. Other areas of responsibility have included R&E, Land acquisition, Data processing and interpretation of multiple geophysical methods, and the seismic reservoir characterization business. When he became the Vice President for Geosolutions, his role expanded to include global oversite of all geoscientists, technologies and services related to all geophysical processing and imaging activities including survey design and modeling, multiphysics integration, geoscience and exploration consulting. He then became the Digital and Integration (D&I) Division Manager for North America Offshore, Guyana, Trinidad & Caribbean, responsible for software products, digital solutions, seismic, integrated drilling and production services in the region. Andrea recently served as the EnerGeo Alliance Board Chairman from 2023 to 2026, and was one of the board directors of the SEG Foundation from 2022 to 2024.
