Bill Barkhouse brings decades of leadership in geophysics innovation, now specializing in drone-based data acquisition and AI-enhanced subsurface imaging. As CEO of Drone Geoscience LLC, he advances the use of magnetometry, electromagnetic, and gamma-ray mapping to assess the environmental impact of abandoned oil and gas infrastructure—including wells, pipelines, and storm-damaged platforms. His work leverages state-of-the-art machine learning and convolutional neural networks to support the energy sector’s transition toward safer and more sustainable practices. He serves as an Emeritus Advisory Council member at Texas A&M’s Geology and Geophysics Department, Vice-Chair of the Energy Education Foundation’s Hall of Fame, and Ambassador with the American Geosciences Institute. Bill maintains active affiliations with the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.
