Christine Downs
Christine Downs is a near-surface geophysicist at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with a PhD from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Building on her background in structural geology, she is most comfortable acquiring and analyzing field data, with a particular interest in electrical and electromagnetic methods and potential fields. More recently, she has worked in remote sensing data acquisition and analysis. Her applied research spans a range of fields, including volcanology, archaeology, wetland hydrogeology, coastal ecology, geothermal studies, and land deformation and fault monitoring. Christine has been volunteering for SEG’s Near-Surface Technical Section since 2020.
