Habib Al Khatib
Before founding SpotLight, Habib had an unconventional career in a large group (Viridien – subsurface exploration): he started as a geological engineer, spending 3 years in engineering, followed by 3 years in technical sales. He then moved on to business development, before taking on the role of head of innovation for the group. After 13 fulfilling years, Habib decided to leave the comfort of salaried employment to found SpotLight (www.spotlight-earth.com) with Elodie MORGAN in 2017, a startup that develops breakthrough technology with the world's lightest subsurface change detection system. By using its light & nimble technology, SpotLight makes CCS (Carbon Capture & Storage) viable, while aiming for a societal goal: to place CO2 storage at the heart of the energy transition. A graduate of the National School of Geology in Nancy, he is married with 3 children and holds a platinum level in Starcraft.
