Jose Arce
José R. Arce obtained his BSc at the University of Missouri-Rolla in Geology and Geophysics (1991) and MSc in Geophysical Engineering from the University of Arizona (1993). He has been working as a geophysicist at Arce Geofísicos in Perú since 1993 and currently heads the company, with more than 1080 surveys completed with his active involvement to date in most countries of the American continent. He presided the organizing committee for the XIII Latin American Geological Congress and XIV Peruvian Geological Congress in 2008 and was elected president for the Peruvian Geological Society for the 2012-2013 period. Arce was also Regional Vice-president for South America for the Society of Economic Geologists during the 2015-2016 period, where he also served as part of the Nominations Committee and the Council. In the SEG, José Arce was chair of the Mining Committee for the 2015-2016 period, chair of the Near Surface Technical Section for the 2018-2019 period and Chair of the Meetings and Review Planning Committee (MRPC), 2020-2021. He was also involved in the SEG Latin America Advisory Committee and the JEDI committee.
