Madeleine Pels
Madeleine Pels is a third year PhD student at Colorado School of Mines Working with the Center for Wave Phenomena (CWP) in the Geophysics Department. Previously she received her bachelor's degree in Geoscience with a focus in geophysics and Minors in Math and Visual arts. Here she also got involved in cave exploration and conservation which has shaped her research interests as well. She then followed to receive a master's degree at SUNY Binghamton in applied geophysics with focuses on geo-anthropology and hydrology. Her current research applies new methods of imaging seismic data to near surface problems. Specific interests are identifying void spaces and structural weakening from voids and other small heterogeneities in the subsurface.
