Nicole Taverna
Nicole Taverna is a geothermal data scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, specializing in subsurface characterization and data-driven workflows. Her work bridges geoscience and data science through machine learning, interactive visualization, statistical analysis, data integration, and the curation of public-facing data products. Nicole has led 3D play fairway analysis efforts for the DEEPEN project, developing tools to de-risk superhot geothermal exploration. She has published on the importance of data quality in machine learning and the value of collaborative data sharing in advancing geothermal technologies. She is currently developing an open-source Python library for customizable 2D and 3D play fairway analysis, with applications to superhot systems.
