Cyril Dziedzorm Boateng
Cyril D. Boateng is a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Physics, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana. He holds an MSc in Geophysics from KNUST and a PhD in Solid Earth Physics from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2018 to 2020, Cyril was a postdoctoral researcher at the College of Geosciences, China University of Petroleum (East China). His field of interest includes quantifying subsurface heterogeneity and integrating them into geophysical interpretation workflows and machine learning applications in geophysics. Cyril is also passionate about applying geophysics to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. In 2014 Cyril led and organized the 2nd African Geosciences Students Conference hosted by KNUST in Kumasi, Ghana. He was the Project Director for the 1st KNUST SEG Field Camp funded by the SEG Foundation and was focused on investigating the slave trade in southeastern Ghana. Besides science research, he is interested in business related to geophysical investigations in Africa.
