Assistant Professor, Rice University
Sahar Bakhshian
Sahar Bakhshian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at Rice University. Her research integrates computational modeling, microfluidics experiments, and machine learning techniques to investigate the physics of fluid flow in porous media, with a particular emphasis on energy transition applications. She received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Southern California. Prior to joining Rice University, she spent six years at the Bureau of Economic Geology at the University of Texas at Austin, where she advanced from Postdoctoral Research Fellow to Research Assistant Professor.
