Larisa Golovko
Larisa is an environmental soil scientist, geophysicist, and data scientist with more than 20 years of experience in geospatial data analytics for environmental and agricultural applications. She is the inventor of the LandMapper®, a portable geophysical meter used for mapping soil electrical properties especially in near-surface environmental and agricultural applications. Dr. Golovko is the CEO of her geoanalytical company, Landviser®, which she founded in 2002 to provide "Land Advice" by developing efficient solutions to monitor environmental resources with various geophysical methods. She also recently founded GeoTools LLC to acquire Pro-Seismic Services LLC, a Houston-based company specializing in the manufacturing of geophysical cables and sensors, which will allow her to build on exceptional quality of geophysical accessories produced by Pro-Seismic for mining, civil engineering, and hydrology while continuing pushing the boundaries of conventional geophysical methods to the new frontieres, such as agrogeophysics. With two Ph.D. degrees in Environmental Biology and Soil Science, along with a recent Post-Graduate Diploma in Machine Learning and AI from Columbia University, she has led or co-led 11 projects that have secured over $1.8 million in funding. Dr. Golovko has published over 70 works, including 4 books, 11 peer-reviewed articles, and more than 40 abstracts. Her expertise includes geospatial data analysis using GIS, remote sensing, and Python. In her recent role as a Resource Soil Scientist at USDA NRCS in Ohio, she was responsible for developing and disseminating soil information for conservation planning and popularizing the versatility of geophysical methods among farmers and ranchers.
